The LED light strip is light enough that once the putty has cooled down it stays in place, HOWEVER I have found that if you keep the lights on at maximum brightness the strip does become hot enough to soften the putty up which causes the mounts to come loose.</p> <p>If you're looking for a more stable adhesion I'd recommend double sided tape, but this may damage the surface it comes into contact with.</p>
