Fix your retro monitor now! Of the Philips VS0080/CM8510 and Commodore (Amiga) 1081/1084/1084S monitors it is known that the hinges of the covers break. Partly due to a design fault, partly to the material becoming brittle after the years. I created this replacement cover and tried to mitigate the design problem. Instructions When printing use a higher infill to and be sure to use supports. After printing using a fine sandpaper for sanding. Then prime, sand again, spray paint it in the correct color. If you want to keep the original cover, you can also replace the hinges by only printing the hinges. Saw off the hinges of the original cover, then print 2 hinges and saw them to get the right measurements (or use Sketchup to get the right measurements before printing), then glue it to the original cover using epoxy glue. I created this cover as follows: I applied ink to once side of the original cover and made a stamp on it of a piece of paper I scanned it and traced the outline in iDraw (you may use your favorite vector graphics editing tool for that), save it as SVG Then I used this great tutorial ('SVG to SketchUp without Plugins!' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9j3xqZ7kg8) to convert the SVG to a 3D format Sketchup can used using Blenderr After loading it in Sketchup is used the pull to create the correct dimensions and copied the hinge and moved it to the correct location
