Phone Charger

I redesigned the phone cradle. A common scenario in our smartphone-centric world is coming home late at night, throwing our phones on a bedside table, and forgetting to plug in the charger. With my design, a user can simply thread their charger through the small hole on the back and into the charger holder underneath the cradle. After doing so, the user’s phone can be simply and gracefully dropped into the charging cradle and immediately begin recovering for the next day of use. This allows for increased convenience and has a modern, clean, and uncluttered look. The extra material around the bottom of the cradle increases stability and prevents the charging cradle from falling over when the user inserts their phone into the slot. I added this when, after testing with a prototype, it repeatedly fell over at even the slightest touch. In my original design, I also had small walls on the sides of the phone slot, but found that this made it way too difficult to insert the phone into the slot quickly. My design was made at Bergen County Academies under Mr. DeFalco. It is designed to be printed with FDM technology and PLA plastics.
