UMPC with 5" display, 14 row keyboard. Based on a Raspberry PI 4, PiJuice Zero and 5" DSI display. 5000mAh battery. 118mm deep 141mm wide 44mm thick (excluding protruding USB ports) 48,6mm thick (including USB ports) #STL Files for the keyboard/base to follow #Design goals: No soldering or modification of Raspberry Pi 4 OR PiJuice Zero Limited parts-list Multiple charging options 14 row qwerty layout WITHOUT any special modifier keys to access type-able characters. This is so that anyone NOT using US keyboard layout can actually still use it with muscle memory. #Features: Full access to all ports USB-C AND micro-USB charging available RGB keyboard (not planned) Large Touchpad (seems a bit laggy tho) 5000mAh battery with pijuice zero (no undervoltage warning, even with peripherals and maxed out CPU Internal compartment to store a Micro HDMI to regular HDMI adapter Internal compartment to store a USB flash drive Internal compartment to store Micro SD cards (TODO) 5” DSI display with no extra power control PCB - powered via ribbon cable HDMI out available to use PiJuice power button accessible through case # TODO/improvements µSD card compartment Remap esc key to actually produce esc on Vontar keyboard (instead of XF86Back) Investigate why touchpad is so laggy. Get a proper profile GPIO header - short and female/male, bigger gauge for 5V on pi 4 Round off keyboard case to make it better to hold + remove need for 2 of base screws Perhaps re-design the hinges to work without metal screws, or some easy-to-tighten screw #Issues: ESC is mapped to XF86Back for some reason ESC button is inserted into to the left of the number row, making them all off by one position. Touchpad laggy Case (with pi and pijuice) tends to warp slightly when printed, making aligning it with screen hard. Back of screen is around 0.5mm thick, with the screws sticking out of the display around 0.6-0,7mm and annoying to catch. #BOM: Excludes power supply and sd card as they are very variable in price 4x 3mm x 10mm screws €1 2x 3mm x 20mm screws + nuts €1 4x 2.5mm nuts €1 2x small gauge wires to connect keyboard power €0,5 5x GPIO wires , not too small gauge for 5V €2 PiJuice zero kit €50 PIS-1131 - PiJuice LiPo Battery, 5000mAh €25 Vontar D8 Keyboard (sold under several brands) €15 Raspberry Pi 4B (2GB) €35 5” DSI display (OSOYOO) €50 3D prints priceless Total €180 ish #Configuration: /boot/config.txt additions: For RPI 4 compatibility (ONLY IF RUNNING OLDER FIRMWARE THAN 1.4): dtoverlay=i2c-bcm2708 Rotate touch and picture to match lcd_rotate=2 display_rotate=2 Install management software: apt install pijiice-gui Run pijiice_cli to update pijuice firmware
