Okay so I think this is my final design. I've printed four so far and keep finding little things to improve. The latest print is the version you see here. I recently purchased a ATN X-Sight II Night Vision Scope and quickly learned that I was going to need some sort of battery pack for it if I expect to hunt for any extended amount of time. Running the scope from internal Energizer Lithium AAs nets you about two hours worth of run time. I had a iGO battery pack laying around at the house so I thought I'd put it to use and designed this battery mount to fit. It's a snug fit and was done like that on purpose to keep the battery pack from falling out. I opted to go this route instead of making the pack a little bigger which would then require some type of latch to keep the battery pack from falling out. This way it's held in by friction which keeps it from rattling around inside the mount. The hardest part of the whole build was coming up with the quick release picatinny mount you see on the back of the box. Luckily I found this model on Thingiverse that I was able to integrate into my design saving me lots of time. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:925927 The iGO pack that I'm using has a button on the top to turn it on. This button should line up with the big hole at the top of the mount so you don't have to continuously slide the battery pack in and out of the box just to turn it on. On one of my previous prints I inserted the battery pack for a test fit only to realize that I didn't design a way to easily get the battery pack back out. It's held in the box pretty tightly but was finally able to get it out without too much damage. I remedied this by drilling a hole in the bottom of the box so that you could take something small (stick, etc.) and use it to push the battery pack out far enough to grab hold of it from the open end. That hole has been added to the final model. I printed all test models at 20% infill but printed the final version at 100% for rigidity. Total print time is around 10 hours at 100% and around 5 hours at 20%.\ Be careful removing the supports from around the quick release mount. I'm having to reprint because I got a little carried away and broke one of the retaining clips that go in the rail. If you print one please post a pic and if you'd like a copy of the Sketchup file so that you can easily mod the design please message me and I'll send it to you. Happy 3D printing! Matt
