# Notes ---------- Inspired by my previous tripod attachment: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4932026 The issue with those rails is the screws take forever to thread in or remove - so a rapid clamping system is being considered. If you carry these attachments in your tripod bag, you also don't have to worry about managing a collection of small screws. Requires two clamps and two clam pieces. If multiple pairs of rails are attached in serial, the previous clamp can connect both rail pairs - meaning only one extra clamp is needed. Originally intended for the bottom telescoping part of the Fovitec 2-7'6" Tripod Stand for HTC VR/Vive. Intended to be used with quick release and attachments: - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3515707 - https://www.thingiverse.com/reavenk/collections/picrail-organization # Assembly ----------- Requirement for the clamps: - 4 M3x25 screws, preferably hex caps - 4 M3 nuts Do not overtighten screws; hinges should move freely. If the screws unthread themselves, consider applying Loctite. The clamp comes with a lever to help detach the clamp. Using the clamp may not be needed, but useful if the clamp is stubborn when detaching it; keep in mind the lever may only partially detach it to help loosen it as part of a 2 step process (completely separating the clamp by hand will still be required afterward). When assembling the lever, a moderate amount of force may be required to thread it through the other piece. # Modifying ---------- The Blender source files also include parameters for adjustment. See the embedded README text in the *.blend files for more information.
