They're like a golf/billiard counter or abacus, but hung on a string so you can attach them to your hiking gear; instead of keeping score, you can track your pace or distance traveled. It's become a habit of mine to try and attach a set to... well, lots of stuff, but especially Nerf guns. It's a handy way to keep your own personal score.
