OK, this paddle is loud, alarmingly loud. Get yourself banned by your HOA loud. That said, it plays pretty well, although not the liveliest of paddles. In the one (and only) game I played with this paddle (which I won, BTW), only once did the entire line of people waiting to play look up in alarm after a hitting an especially loud shot. So if you are a particularly contrarian player on a budget (~$5 in filament), this could be the paddle for you.

You will need a fairly large printer (300mmx300mm+) to print out the paddle, although you could scale X & Y to change the paddle form-factor.

Specs:

Length: 16 3/4"

Width: 7 1/4"

Weight: ~7.5 oz

Print Settings

Printer:

UDIO

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2mm

Infill:

8%

Filament:
Inland PLA

Notes:

Print the paddle flat and the handle standing up. Use a 0.4mm line width and 3 perimeter lines. Use 3 solid top and 3 solid bottom layers. Lastly, use a square grid infill (45 deg and -45 degree infill lines both printed on each layer).

Post-Printing =============
Once printed, apply a liberal amount of gel-type superglue to the inside of the handle and slide the body in place. There are a couple of holes through the handle and body for temporary screws to help keep the handle & body aligned while the glue sets.

I wrapped the handle in self-fusing rubber tape, but you could also use conventional tennis grip tape.

Category: Sport & Outdoors
