Picture Mounting System

This is a magnetic picture hanging system for hanging things on walls that you don't want / can't screw into, mar, or use adhesives. Works very will for Drop Ceilings and for Wallpapered Rooms Works especially well for foam-core printed pictures or posters Good for patterns since you can fine tune / rearrange after hanging There are two parts: 1) The Picture Hanger This plate has holes and channels to run monofilament (fishing line) through to hold the picture. It has channels to run "straight" through vertically (for small pictures) and also has space for double wrapping the bottom for heavier pictures. You can attach this plate to your pictures with command strips or double side tape OR there is a spot on the top to glue in a small magnet (10mm x 1mm). 2) Magnet Jig If you choose to use magnets this little jig will help you align the magnets on your pictures. 3) Drop Ceiling Clip This is a clip for use with standard US drop ceilings. It clips into the edge of the wall and has a hole for monofilament for the hangers above. Certainly could be use separately. So far this works very well for mounting foam core printed pictures from a drop ceiling. The monofilament is strong enough that I can easily hold six 4X6's or four 8X10s on a single line. Since they are all on the same line the alignment is spot on. Additionally since this is a friction mount, I can easily fine tune the vertically alignment to make everything line up. If you are going to use the magnets BE SURE to make sure all magnets are aligned the same way when glueing. This will allow you to rearrange later and your pictures will stick to any holder. UPDATE - Oct, 2017 I'm going to be posting a new version of this in early November that is much improved over this design. The main issues that I have run into after normal use is the lack of "hard" attachment to the pictures. Magnets are great, but it would be better if a way a more robust connection. If you are considering using this I would suggest holding off for a few more weeks until the revision comes out. Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: Prusa Mk2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.2 Notes: I found it easier to print the drop ceiling clip on its side rather than flat. This is stronger since the print grain is better aligned with the stress points. Other two can simple be printed flat. How I Designed This Designed using Fusion360
