Printing issues were plaguing me until I managed to repair the original model. I'm considering running meshmixer's orientation tool against it to find an even more optimal angle. For now, this fix has resolved the problem with the top half of the ears not printing correctly in its originally designed size. This is not my creation; the original can be found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:376601.
