Pine car derby wheels

Made some pine car derby wheels for my kids. There are two designs: one that can accommodate a nail as an axle, the second you can add a bearing and a screw as an axle to make things a little faster. Bearing details: 5mmx11mmx4mm Wheel width is 3mm versus the bearing being 4mm wide. There is a little space between the wheel and the derby car. Cant have the wheel touch the car can we!! :) Bearings are similar to the ones used in RC cars like traxxas, axial, redcat and many others. Very common and cheap bearing. Check amazon. My kids are not old enough to participate in pine car racing this year and maybe I helped too much with this project. BUT our cars with the bearings are fast and the black one is undefeated in the school. I used some washers as spacers and screws to attach the wheels to the car. Used a large big washer as a weight and voila!!! Dont over tighten the screw to the car too much, it needs to be a little loose. ;) FYI - This was designed by a friend for me. Race on!
