This is a mobile soldering iron station/case for the PINECIL PINE64 soldering iron. It's important to push the pinecil all the way to the front, so the little recess/thin part at the base of the tip rests in the metal ring - if not, the plastic will deform and has to be printed again. This happened two times after not explaining that to friends that used it. WHAT ELSE DO I NEED? -You need a 11.6mm (outside diameter) aluminium tube, I got 1m of that in my hardware store for a few bucks, for the pinecil holder itself. if you need other dimensions, just contact me and I can upload a better fitting version for your tubes. -You need eight 4x7mm magnets for the lid and bottom and a 4mm drill to clean up the holes of the magnets. -I got some brass wool for cleaning the solder tip, you can get it cheap online somewhere. You could also use a sponge, but i preferred the wool. -Maybe some double sided tape or hot glue to glue in the brass wool. -You also need a M3*16mm screw and nut to secure the fold up clip. I used internal hex bolt. -Some glue that works four your filament to glue in the clips (and possibly magnets). WHAT TO KEEP IN MIND ABOUT THE PRINTS? Do not use supports on the bottom parts! Or the print in place spring gets stuck, that is retaining the fold up holder for the pinecil itself. I had some trouble to get the spring to move freely, but after scraping away some material below the spring 2-3 times, it moved fine. You have to print 2 of the "spare tip clips" (shorter ones) and one of the "tip clips" (longer ones) If the retaining spring (the pring in place spring) does not work, it should still be able to hold your pinecil, it might tip forward though, so remember to tighten down the bolt when needed. I would recommend 0.15mm layer height and a 0.5mm nozzle (i designed it for those parameters), but everything else should work just as fine. 0.15mm is according to cnc kitchen the strongest, so that is what i use most for my functional prints. And 0.5mm nozzle is just to please my liking of rounded number. Like, what the heck is 0.4mm? I never got that :D I printed everything in cheap PETG, what worked quite well. ANYTHING ELSE? Do not forget to clean up the holes of the magnets before pushing them in. I did not need glue after drilling. clean up the screw and bolt holes and drill out the hole of the holder clip as well to make sure it moves nicely. The shorter tip clips are for the area beneath the fold up holder. The longer ones are for the front of the pinecil itself. And obviously the big clip for the pinecil itself. Just glue them in and let the glue dry before trying it out all excited like a little child :D The solder spool should be glued as well, but could work without. I hope you like it! (sorry for the potato pictures)
