Pinned Dovetail Hinge

Dovetail joints have been used throughout history for their resistance to being pulled apart (tensile strength). I have designed a hinge that uses a dovetailed cylinder as the point of rotation. This design provides a hinge that has a very high tensile strength. There are many common industry applications where this type of hinge would be useful. Anywhere where the potential for a heavy load to be placed on a hinge, or impact to strike on a hinged joint would benefit from this designs high tensile strength over a traditional hinge design. This hinge fits the challenge goals because it would not be possible to manufacture or assemble a hinge of this design without additive manufacturing.
