Pintech Cymbal Anti-Rotation Arm

Pintech Cymbal Anti-Rotation Arm

Designed and tested for Pintech TC series cymbals (14", 16", 18"), but will likely work for the PC series as well. These are a decent solution to prevent the cymbal from rotating while playing, which I found to be a big issue with these cymbals. There are three files: - Arm Guide - 45mm Arm (for 14" cymbal) - 65mm Arm (for 16", 18" cymbal) The arm guide is adhered to the underside of the cymbal (I found carpet tape to work quite well) with the base of the arm guide lining up with the edge of the bell. The arm guide has "wings" which overhang over the bell to help ensure the arm doesn't escape the guide when the cymbal is moving up and down. The arm requires an M5 bolt (>=10mm should work) and M5 nut, which it uses to clamp onto the cymbal stand, underneath the mount for the cymbal. There are two sizes provided for the different bell sizes used by the different size cymbals. I only own the 3 piece package, so the 45mm arm is for the 14" cymbal, and the 65mm arm is for the 16" and 18" cymbals (they have the same bell diameter). Design notes: - These parts should be printed so that the layer lines of the arm and arm guide are orthogonal, otherwise the layer lines will catch on each other during use which makes a lot of noise (like a washboard). Printing the arm guide this way also greatly strengthens the part, with very little chance of breaking at the layer lines. The files are already oriented this way by design, so you don't have to worry about this - The size of these are probably total overkill and the design could likely be slimmed down to use less material, but I was worried about the forces with the long arms acting as levers and just wanted something that will work. A better design might be to design something which resides inside the bell to eliminate having to reach over the bell cavity - In my testing, the most common point of failure was the adhesion of the arm guide to the cymbal. Roughing up the bottom of the arm guide (sandpaper, scoring with a blade) may help with adhesion
