Pip Racer - a print in place battery powered car

==WHAT IS THIS? A battery powered car that's printed in place. The wheels, gears and motor enclosure print already assembled with the frame. You will need to mount a motor, battery contacts, a AA battery and tires (unless you print the dual extruder version) ==PRINTING INFO No Supports No raft 20% infill Approximately 30 grams of material. Print the model with the side of the GEARS FACING DOWN. This car is designed to print at 0.2mm layer height. It might not work properly at other layer heights, so i don't recommend it. Some details are as small as 0.4mm x 0.4mm in size, so ensure that your printer settings allow for these to print. Please see the pictures for reference (the one with a goose head looking thing). ==THINGS YOU'LL NEED --TIRES I included tires to print in TPU If you can't print them, use O-rings (Suggested size: ID:19.5mm OD:23.5mm Width:2mm) OR, if you have small enough rubber bands, use those. OR, if you have a car hobby that use small tires (mini4wd, slot car, kyosho mini z, etc), trim and use those. -MOTOR The motor size is 130 and can be found on ebay, amazon, hlj.com, aliexpress, bangood and a bunch of other sites. It's can be found for just a few bucks. -8 TOOTH TAMIYA MINI4WD PINION Just like the motor, these can be found on ebay, amazon, hlj.com, aliexpress, etc. I don't know the tooth pitch of these, sorry. But as long as you get the Tamiya 8 tooh pinions, you should be alright. --BATTERY A simple 1.5 volt AA battery will work just fine. These motors easily handle 3 volts, so if you want to throw in a 3 volt lipo on there, be my guest. --BATTERY CONTACTS I made mine using old cables and a thin sheet of copper from a hardware store. --------------------------- ==TEST PIECES I've included 2 sectioned pieces of the chassis so you can test your settings before going through the ordeal of printing the whole thing just to find out that it didn't work. One piece allows you to test the motor hinge, the other tests the gears and wheels. ==THIS IS NORMAL The wheels and gear will feel fused at first, but spinning with your fingers should free them up. ==IF YOU HAVE A DUAL EXTRUDER I've included a version for dual extrusion, where the second extruder prints the TPU tires directly on the rims. I have not tested this, as I don't have access to a dual extruder printer. ==STEP FILES I'm including them so you have the freedom to explore the CAD, learn and modify it as you please. ==IN CONCLUSION This was a labor of love, and I hope you'll enjoy it. I've searched extensively, and it appears that this is first print-in-place object designed to run with a power source such as an electric motor. ==MORE PICTURES AND SIMILAR PROJECTS https://www.instagram.com/the_megatron_team/
