This Spanish Peru 8 Escudos gold doubloon is the real deal when it comes to pirate’s bounty. The infamous captain Black Beard was at his peak of plunder at the time this coin was hand struck in 1716. Notice the blood drops around the cross also know as the ‘Blood Cross’ this was done as a commemorative piece for the loss of the 1715 Plate fleet, the largest loss in Spain’s navel history.
