**** ***We kindly request that you take a moment to mourn the passing of Pirs*** ***RIP Pirs, we will never forget you*** ***In other news..... This model reaches 100 downloads, ON THE DAY THAT PIRS DIES, if that is not some kinda message from Pirs, then nothing is*** **** This is a remix/remodel of werner182's Pirs model (found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4275274). Full credit goes to them as it is an excellent model that we have built on. We have added some other parts and have adjusted the scale to give it a more realistic look. The reason we have picked Pirs from all of the ISS modules is because it is probably the cutest/coolest module on the station. Background info (courtesy of Wikipedia) Pirs (Russian: Пирс, meaning "pier") – also called Stykovochny Otsek 1 (SO-1) (Russian: Стыковочный отсек, "docking module") and DC-1 (docking compartment) – is a Russian module on the International Space Station (ISS). Pirs was launched on 14 September 2001, and is located on the Zvezda module of the station. It provides the ISS with one docking port for Soyuz and Progress spacecraft, and allows egress and ingress for spacewalks by cosmonauts using Russian Orlan space suits. Pirs_Module+ This is the model itself. Pirs_module + (RIP) The Pirs module was decomissioned in 2020, (when its elctronics connections were cut), and then later in 2021, it was undocked (Watch it all here: [YouTube](https://youtu.be/QR-kJ15i2-4). As a memorial to our favourite little docking adapter/airlock/cargo hold I have made a memorial plaque that the model can slot into. RIP Pirs....
