PIVOT POLISHER

For us us budding horologist a simple and inexpensive way to polish pivots Instructions With a few craft sticks from Wal-Mart,a glue stick, tape and sandpaper you can get your pivots polished for just a few dollars Use polish the pivot stick.cdr to create a template and then you can cut as many as you need. Then use polish the pivot paper.cdr to cut the sandpaper out to fit the sticks. Once the sticks are cut out tape the two pieces together and then use a glue stick to adhere the sandpaper to the insides of the sticks, see pics. I only spread the glue 3/4 of the way down, so that I can remove the paper once its worn out and glue a new paper in place. You can see the effect of using the system in the attached pics There is a before and after pic of an escape gear pivot. Thanks to John Tope for the idea, if you need some training be sure to check out http://www.ticktockpro.com/
