https://plasmadan.com/blog/pixelpi-ac-led-controller-raspberry-pi-hat/The YouTube video shows my own addressable LED project driven by a predecessor of the PixelPi AC & Raspberry Pi.PixelPi AC is a HAT for Raspberry Pi designed for control & switching of APA102 / WS2801 addressable LED strips (and LED driver). It uses the GPIOs from the Raspberry Pi directly, without the need for I2C communication, making it super easy to use with WiringPi. The PixelPi AC includes 4 individually selectable addresses for the opto-isolated Relay control output, AC detect input and the spare GPIO for use with external buttons or switches. This channel selection allows the HAT to be stacked, so you can control multiple LED strips and LED drivers at the same time. This also helps with compatibility with other HATs or pHATs if used together.Unlike similar addressable LED controller HATs, the PixelPi AC can be hard-wired to the LED driver powering the LEDs to allow both 1-way & 2-way switching. This means you can switch on / off an LED driver using a Raspberry Pi; and also link to a 2-way / intermediate (3-way / 4-way in the US) lighting circuit, with up-to a 6A current rating. This product is still in the prototype stage. We intend to run a Kickstarter for it once we have a final product. Let us know your thoughts on the 3D model, and what you would like to see in the final product.Created in SketchUp. Rendered in Keyshot 5 Pro.The Raspberry Pi B+ model is an altered version of a model from another creator.© 2018 - Dan Jones - https://plasmadan.com
