PL Mount to Eclair ACL Camera

thingiverse

This is an experimental adapter to allow PL mount lenses to be fitted to an Eclair ACL 16mm movie camera. It consists of five pieces: a barrel, a collar that threads onto the camera body, a back plate that holds the collar on the barrel, a flange that threads onto the barrel allowing overall length adjustment, and a retainer that threads onto the flange and secures the PL lens in place. The back plate is secured to the barrel with M2x6 bolts. The rotation of the flange is secured with M2x10 bolts.. A small M1.4x3.5 screw acts as the pin that keeps the lens from rotating when rotating the retainer. This project is intended for experimental purposes only, use it at your own risk! Attaching an expensive PL lens to a camera with a plastic mount is risky at best. Getting the parts to fit together and fit to the camera can be challenging, the threads are very fine (1mm pitch) and the tolerances are tight. It might be a good idea to print the collar first to check the threading on your camera. The back plate and collar have support structures built in, the other parts were designed to print without support.
