PLA compatible version of elliptical gear set in herringbone gears. I have not got worked the 'old' version of elliptcal gears, because in PLA and ABS, the pins are broken all the way. This design is printed in PLA, and plays very good. How I designed this: This is a complete redesign. I have used parkinbot's idea of gearcutting. Mathematics of ellipse is copied. Toothed rack is rewritten, reduced to 2 teeth, in mind of strict data reduction of the openscad internal process. The file elliptic.scad will generate an outline of the gear required. It is to be saved as elliptic.stl. Do not print this. Insert the parameters a, b, focus (shown in terminal window of openscad) to parameters.scad. Run gear1a.scad, it will import elliptic.stl and parameters.scad and will generate your gear in a calculation process using difference() command. This 2-step process will do much faster rendering and it is more convieniant to me. gear1b.stl is mirrored version. twin project: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3177189
