Planet Bike rear light mount for European rack 50mm mounting holes

6/20/2018 - Uploaded version 3. This makes the release tab wider for strength. I also rotated to print flat on it's back when slicing in Cura which results in a tough overhangs but my settings seemed to handle it ok. 6/12/2018 - After about 10 on/off cycles my release tab snapped right off :( I'll be making the tab thicker in OpenSCAD and printing slower for better layer adhesion. Additionally I will try to scrounge up some flush mount bolts so that the mount is subject to less flexing when turning the light on and off. This project was a good learning experience for me tinkering around with OpenSCAD and I'm so happy the original designer chose to share the file. I wanted to make the bracket fit the 50mm bolt holes of my Tubus rack so I could move my Planet Bike light from the seatpost to the rack. In addition my initial print did not hold the light firmly (tongue too loose and release tab too small) which resulted in it bouncing out multiple times during testing on rough roads. After about 20 miles of remix testing there does not appear to be any danger of the light bouncing out! I would recommend using flush mount bolts as the light must be twisted or partially removed to turn on and off with the bolts shown in the pictures. For the future: This design is very functional but I can't help but long for something that matches the form of my rack. I intend (you know what they say about intentions..) to learn more about designing in OpenSCAD and release a "form over function" model that looks great on the rack, if slightly less functional and harder to print than the original.
