An orrery with planetary gears as the orbital velocity reducing mechanism.UPDATEApparently this design does not print on hobbyist FDM machines. That's a shame, and is something I'm going to try and fix at some stage. Thanks to Paul Battram for his work on this. My original intent was to have the parts printed on a laser sintering process, but I'd like it to be compatible with simpler FDM machines. ______________________________________________________________This has been designed specifically to be 3D printed. Every kid should have one! Furthermore, the positions of the planets are infinitely variable, unlike others I've seen. Just slide them around to where you want them. Perfect for studying retrograde motion...Enjoy.
