Based on a widely-used wooden passive sound amplifier design, this device fits most phones without cases, as well as slim cases that have a roughly 3"x 3/4" slot opening. It works seamlessly with both bottom-firing and front-firing speakers. I've observed that it amplifies high-frequency sounds significantly, while also subtly emphasizing low-frequency sounds to a noticeable degree.
