Plastic Hook for Mini Spring Latch

Plastic Hook for Mini Spring Latch

My roll top desk uses several mini spring latch mechanisms for some push-to-open doors. One of them has been missing the plastic hook piece that became broken long ago. 3D printing to the rescue! I composed the replacement using Tinkercad in about 20 minutes and printed in another 15. Reattached with the original screw and it works perfectly. A replacement set including a mini latch and hook isn't available in local hardware stores and would have cost near $10 by internet. I only needed the plastic hook, so, I set out to design a replacement that I could easily turn out with my 3D printer. I hope my design for a replacement does you some good. The photo with the green background shows the replacement part (in white PLA) compared to the original part (in brown). The other two photos show the original plastic hook and the mini spring latch as they appear when installed.
