The plate for the Manfrotto Compact Action Tripod is so small you're in danger of losing it. And £15 a pop for a spare is a bit cheeky too. So I made this which has a recess in the base for a suitable bolt. The standard camera fitting is a 1/4" thread which you won't find at Screwfix/Toolstation/B&Q here in the UK but you can buy 1/4" bolts on Amazon cheaply enough. Or you can do what I did and run a 1/4" thread cutting tool down a metric bolt. Works fine!
