Plate for RJ45 LAN extension receptacle

Plate for RJ45 LAN extension receptacle

Originally intended to cover up the hole used for extending the LAN connector from my RepRap Ormerod conroller out to the outside of the box I'm building for it, this plate might come in handy in similar situations. The plate is used with a 60cm LAN extension cable I found on dx.com, apparently designed to be mounted on the inside of a thin wall, screws coming in from the outside. Since my carpentry skills did not encourage me to try making a decent square hole in the box, the idea of this plate is to instead hold the connector fixed to the outside of the box, running through a much less design critical hole beneath the plate. Instructions The screw holes are designed for 3x20 mm countersunk wood screws. I find that my printer has difficulties printing the short pins on the inside thin enough to fit in the screw holes -- in that case, simply cutting most of them away works fine. :-)
