Plexylight
thingiverse
I wanted to create something special for my girlfriend using my new 3D printer. So I decided to make a sleek nightstand light. This is what I came up with. I designed a model that fits perfectly in some acrylic with a unique shape carved out. There's room inside for a switch, three buttons (to cycle through different colors and effects), a 9V battery, and an Arduino Nano. The acrylic is 12mm thick, 150mm tall, and 90mm wide. This was my first design, so of course there are still plenty of opportunities for improvements, but it's a great starting point! I'm planning to create a new version that addresses some of the small flaws in this design and uses a larger acrylic plate (12mm x 180mm x 100mm). Print Settings: Printer: Velleman Vertex K8400 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 20% Notes: I used transparent filament for an extra effect. The print isn't sanded or spray-painted, but feel free to customize it as you like!
