PodBreakout to iPod Touch V4 rigid docking port

The PodBreakout plug allows experimenters to connect the 30 pin iPod socket to external devices, such as a microcontroller. However, it is an ungainly shape and the full 30 pin version has a circuit board of solder terminals that sticks out of the back of the plug, rendering it susceptible to damage. This docking port allows you to glue the PodBreakout in place at one end, holds the cable securely, and is shaped to allow you to slide an iPodTouch into a socket at the other end so that it connects accurately with the plug and keeps the whole assembly securely connected. Instructions This was tricky to design to avoid curling at the ends when being printed. It has 1mm thick "mouse ears" on each corner to help keep the corners stuck down when the first few layers are being printed. First 2mm of underside are hollow to reduce warping. Prints OK with a raft. I used heated bed at 110 degrees and extrusion temperature of 225 degrees (MakerBot Replicator). Sides of MakerBot enclosed to keep heat inside. When printed glue the PodBreakout white plug into the centre recess, and before glue is set, gently slide the iPodTouch into the right hand slot on device and partially push it onto the end of the 30 pin plug. This way you know the glue will set holding the plug in exactly the correct position so that in future the iPod will always connect with the plug each time you insert it. Edges of the slot fold over the sides of the iPod so it will not fall out. If you like the whole assembly can be built into a larger device leaving just the open socket on one side to insert the iPod.
