Hey all, this is my take on Poe Dameron's Glie-44 Blaster pistol but modified to fit on a picatinny rail system. When applied to a pistol rail, the model will act as a shroud to transform your gun into a blaster. While this model isn't 1:1 (in the sense that I added some greeblies and had to modify the overall shape for adaptability) it's very close to the prop seen in Star Wars. The only large modification I had to make that I don't think i'll be able to change is on the Star Wars prop there's a large heat sink section leading to the tip of the barrel. In real life this would get in the way of the actual barrel so I had to scrap it and install a different vented section but, I think it works well. From a lore standpoint many of the blasters you see in the Star Wars universe have tons of variations and models. With that being said, we can call this a 'Glie-43' and pretend it was an earlier model lol. This model is currently a WIP and is a heavily modified version of mrhers2's 'Handgun Tri-Rail Mount'. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1551291 Additionally, while I didn't use the creators model, I used it heavily for inspiration from a design standpoint. Cujo3131's 'Poe Dameron / Resistance Blaster'. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1231915 Build Note: To tighten the model to your weapon rail, according to mrhers2, you'll need two 6/32 machine screws and two matching hex-nuts. Slide the hex nuts in between the decorative plate until it falls into the two hexagonal shaped holes. While holding the hex-nuts so they don't fall out, insert your two 6/32 machine screws on the other side of the shroud. You'll see two holes on the outer shell that line up with the picatinny mount holes. While still holding down the hex-nuts, insert your screw driver into the outer holes and tighten the entire assembly to your desired fit. Future Updates: - Add permanently fixed nose cone and separated version with hole for airsoft BB's to be able to shoot through. - Add rear 'gear/knob?' that sits behind the rear sights. Both a fixed version, separated version and a moveable version for airsoft guns that use the gas/AEG blowback feature. - Lower the entire height of the top portion of the shroud to better fit certain models of airsoft handgun. Let me know if anyone has problems printing.
