Poker Dealer Chip

A colourful Poker dealer chip that you can print on any 3D printer. It has the same size as a standard Poker chips so it should easily fit together in a case with your set.

You can print either the 4-colour or 2-colour version. Printing the 4-colour version is a bit more tricky, but the result is outstanding.

Check out also the small blind / big blind chips: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4878728

Print settings

Print the chip using the z-hop technique described in details here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Sla-vIsvh4 You should use 0.2mm layer height and at least 0.2mm z-hop height.

All the models are designed with their centers aligned, so the default slicer position should be perfect. You can also print multiple chips at the same time by offsetting all the models by exactly the same amount in X and Y.

You should use your smallest nozzle (0.4mm or less) for this print, as the details are quite small (especially on the clubs and spades).

I recommend to adjust your z-offset to squish the first layer a bit to make the bottom of the print as smooth as possible, so a perfectly level bed is a must.

When changing colours make sure to clean and prime the nozzle thoroughly from the previous filament. It is especially important when going from darker to lighter colour. Also remember to remove the brim after each colour change.

I prefer to use only one wall line in the slicer so there are no additional lines visible around the letters and suits. You can print with 100% infill or use extra infill wall to compensate for that.

If there are some small holes appearing between the elements you can try to use a 0.05-0.1mm horizontal expansion on the text in your slicer. This should not interfere with the base but provide a bit more overlap.

4-colour version

You must set the brim distance in your slicer to at least 20mm! If you fail to do so the brim will interfere with the elements previously printed on the bed.

Print the RED first, then BLACK, DEALER an finally the base. Remove the brim after each print.

I recommend using a dark green for the DEALER text and white for the base, but you can make your own colour combination.
