Polyhedral Lamps from Burning Man

Polyhedral Lamps from Burning Man

sketchfab

This was part of the Burning Man traveling museum exhibit at the Oakland Museum in California. The lamps appear to be laser or water jet cut and have single bright LEDs to cast these shadows to cast the pattern. One interesting idea is to use patterns of light projected onto surfaces as a guide to carve pattern on such surfaces. Where the images from two such sources overlap a 3D pattern of light is projected that could be followed and carved if properly planned. Created in RealityCapture by Capturing Reality from 129 images in 01h:22m:20s.
