The Ponce de Lean inlet light is located in central Florida and with its 175 feet (53 m) is the tallest lighthouse in the state and one of the tallest in the US. The first lighthouse in Mosquito inlet was built in 1835, however the oil for the lamp was never delivered and soon after during the second seminole war the original lighthouse was attacked and abandoned. The present lighthouse tower date from 1887. In 1927 the name of Mosquito inlet was changed to Ponce de León in honour of the Spanish explorer and conquistador who led the first expedition to Florida. Today, the lightouse is open to visitors. Visit Ponce Inlet Lighthouse & Museum The model was designed using pictures and detailed drawing of the actual building in scale 1/160 (N scale). You can resize it using your favourite software before print, however, if you do so, some of the parts may lose stability or look over scaled. Model has 12 different pieces that you need to assembly as any other model kit: I attached an instruction booklet together with the downloaded files. Printing, painting and weathering will give a lot of fun. This model can be a great addition to your layout or diorama. Happy modelling!
