Pool Vaccuum Hose Adapter

Pool Vaccuum Hose Adapter

I needed to vaccuum the bottom of my small BestWay 10 ft round 30 in deep pool. I tried 2 different battery operated ones (one was $100 and the other was $200) and they both kind of sucked and I have no idea how often I would need to replace the 5 Dcell Batteries required to run them. I wanted to use the pool's pump and filter the way larger pools do but the hoses had no place to attach and were far from the right size to join on to the existin hoses or direct to the pump. I also wanted something that wouldn't risk losing the water from my pool as I connected the vaccuum. I made this. To connect it I remove one of the two in pool debris catchers and insert this with the pool hose attached to the other side of it. It worked right off the bat but the suction was a little weak when coming througn the 20 hose and vaccuum attachment, so I removed the other debris catcher and inserted one of the included plugs that came with the pool incase you did not wish to connect the pump. The suction power increased and I was able to vaccuum my pool, so I decided to share it here. The 20 ft pool hose cost $30 and the vaccuum attachment cost $30 and it works better than the two battery operated ones I tried and I didnt need to empty it 4 times to clean the pool once.
