This is my entry into Autodesk's Desktop Fusion challenge, a notification device with a retractable display. The majority of the time, this device would be resting in the closed position, taking up minimal space and attention. When a notification comes in the screen would rise, drawing the eye without any intrusive ringing or vibration. At this point the touch-sensitive control panel can be used to navigate and open notifications. After a set amount of time without updates, it would automatically close to preserve workflow. I aimed to make this as a feasible of a design as possible, so the majority of components are imported from McMaster-Carr (nuts, bolts, gears), or recreated from drawings in the case of the 9g servo. The remaining components could easily be printed with minimal supports. Although there's no circuitry or batteries in my files, I left what I assume is ample space for the components that would be needed. There's also provisions for a micro-USB port on the back to allow charging.
