Portable Band Saw Conversion Switch Box

Portable Band Saw Conversion Switch Box

Thought I would share the switch box I made to make the conversion of my portable metal cutting band saw to a table mount vertical band saw. It's the Harbor freight (BAUER) band saw. The box allows you to make it a permanent mod instead of having to use zip ties, clamps, or other stuff to hold down the trigger to use it in this configuration. The box retains the original speed control and operates with a simple SPST switch available at any auto parts store. Wiring diagram and part numbers for the switch are in the pictures. Made on my Anet A8 Plus. 0.2mm layer height, 25% infill with Hatchbox PLA. The box is vented to allow airflow and it didn't get hot at all cutting through a 3 inch by 1 inch thick piece of tool steel. You will have to leave out the mounting screw that is under the speed control or use a very flat headed screw, or you risk grounding out the board. Enjoy!
