Portable Solder Fume Extractor for a Stanley 014725R Organizer

I keep many of the tools I use for electronics projects stowed away in Stanley 014725R Organizer cases, so I made this solder fume extractor fan to go with them. This fume extractor is designed around a 60x60x25mm fan and a 10000mAh Lipo battery, but has some other bells and whistles including a USB Charge/boost module, battery level gauge, fuse and a pull out duct to better direct the airflow though the fan. There is also an "arm" that swings around and allows the fan to be set at a low angle to suck fumes from close to the work surface. All that stuff is crammed into a case which is about 80x110x35mm, but I tried to make the electronics at least well organized in that small space. I added detailed instructions and a bill of materials at the link below: http://www.mystoopidstuff.com/solder-fume-extractor-for-a-stanley-014725r-organizer.html The following parts are needed to build this: * 60x60x25mm Fan - I used one like this: Amazon item B00Q7XB5AS * Lithium Li-ion Battery Charger Module Boost 3.7V to 5V 9V 12V Adjustable DC-DC Step Up Boost Module TP4056 - similar to these: Amazon item B08GWTBD3T * 3.7V 1000mAh 523050 Lipo Battery with JST connector (mine has a Mini Micro JST PH 2.0 connector) - I used one like this: Amazon item B07BTVS98X * a compatible connector for the battery with at least a 150mm wire tale (or make your own) - mine were Mini Micro JST PH 2.0mm * 1S Lithium Battery Capacity Indicator - I used one like this (note the version is "1S" or one cell): https://www.ebay.com/itm/1S-2S-3S-4S-4-2-8-4-12-6-16-8V-Lithium-Battery-Capacity-Indicator-Power-Tester-F/253727781563 * A PCB Panel Mount Small Medium Universal Car Fuse Holder (with a compatible ATM micro mini automotive fuse) - these seem hard to find in low values, but I am using a 5A and have some 3A on order. I used one like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/6-Set-PCB-Mini-Medium-Holder-Universal-Car-Fuse-Blade-Fuses/233930960282 * M3 x 4mm x 4.3mm brass inserts (5 needed) * Carbon filters (trying these), but whichever are used, they need to be thin enough to fit the compartment on this. For the ones shown below, I carefully sliced about 2-3mm from the filter, to thin it, which also improved the airflow considerably. The filters linked below are for garbage can deodorizers. Amazon item B00XNI5SY4 * 3A/250V 6A/250V switch similar to these: Amazon item B07D7NCLKF * 12x12x7.3 mm Tactile Push Button Momentary Switch with Cap, similar to these: Amazon item B01E38OS7K * M3x20mm flat head screw (1) * M3x30mm round head screw (4) * M2x10mm screw and washers (2 of each) You can find links to my other stuff that fits into a Stanley 014725R Organizer at the links below: Portable TS-80 Soldering Iron Battery Case (fits into the Stanley 014725R organizer) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3389568 DSO112A Module for the Modular Breadboard Kit V2 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3638866 Component Tester Module for the Breadboard Kit V2 https://www.instructables.com/id/Component-Tester-Module-for-the-Breadboard-Kit-V2/ Modular Breadboard Kit V2 - small modules only (with STEP files) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3416074 Modular Breadboard Kit V2 - small box module with lid (with STEP file) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3714623 Modular Breadboard Kit V2 - small double box module with lid (with STEP file) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3716154 DP20V2A Power Supply case for the Stanley 014725R Organizer https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3334709 I also have some parts trays for the same case which you can find in my designs here. Parts are not oriented for printing. The STEP file is included for easy remixing. I am not an electronics expert but I did the best I could with the design, but still make this at your own risk and let me know if you see something that can be improved. You can post any questions or suggestions in the comments and I will do my best to assist. If you make one, please post a make and provide feedback, thanks for looking! Update 9/26/2021: I noticed several times when storing this away and trying to use it again, that it appeared to have a dead battery. However if I connected it up to a charger for just a few minutes, it would show a near full charge. I'm not sure if this has to do with the way I connected things up, but I plan to review the connections and possibly swap my battery meter since it also seems to be intermittent. I'm pretty sure the problem will either be a faulty button switch or a faulty battery display, otherwise it has been working great.
