The complex of the portico of Ottavia overlooking the Circo Flaminio (area that corresponds to the ancient ghetto) was rebuilt by Augustus, in place of the most ancient portico of Metello, between 27 and 23 a.C. and dedicated in the name of his sister Octavia.
