Portrait of Berenice I of Egypt
myminifactory
This slightly larger-than-life head with a very simply coiffured hairstyle tils her head emphatically to the left. This style was a common representation of Queen Berenice I of Egypt, the wife of Ptolemy II. The holes on either side of the head suggest that this bust would have featured a crown of sorts. The work was created around 230 BC.
