Can computers and electronic devices be made more accessible without sacrificing the proven benefits of the split hook? Though the shoulder and elbow mechanically activate the split hook, a wide range of motion is under-utilized. This range of motion can be captured with small electronic components that track movement relative to an initial condition. The prosthetic attachment is built from open-source hardware components that are inexpensive and light-weight. Basic gestures and movements for mouse-based navigation are intuitive and comfortable. Additional gestures of greater nuance and complexity can be programmed based on individual needs and capacities.
