For everyday fence railings, there's a reused pot metal ring that covers the joint between the post and surrounding concrete wall/pathway. This metal deteriorates with winter salt, but it is impossible to remove the post for installing a substitute. This piece prints in two parts. Remove the 2 small pegs used for printing support, then slide the large part over the post. Afterward, push the smaller part into the notch. Spray paint the components before installation if you want to match other painted molding. A single drop of fast-drying (CA) adhesive will hold ABS or PLA in place. This model is scaled for the typical 1 inch or 25 mm square tubing. The SCAD file is included, should you wish to modify or improve the design.
