Pot, with Tray

Pot, with Tray by RebelTaz No, not that kind of pot. I had this little terracotta planter pot, but I needed a tray to go under it. While I was whipping up the tray in FreeCAD, I decided to go ahead and model the pot, too - both to get an idea of how the overall thing would look, but also so that I could offer both to you, my fellow makers :) My late father introduced me to these unique lamps when I was a kid and I found this one cleaning his home after he died. Since it's a flower, I thought it would be fitting to "plant" it in a pot in his name. In addition to the clay pot I already had, I printed this tray, and shoved a porcelain lamp socket down into a wedge of floral foam from a dollar store that just so happened to fit this pot perfectly. The foam was painted with Plaid FolkArt Acrylic paint to try and mimic dirt. I think the overall affect looks pretty good. Maybe, I don't think there is such a thing as the "good ol' days". The world is a much different place than 20-30 years ago. I'd never want to go back to the 80s and 90s... dial up internet? No mobile phones? Fuck that. I get it though... maybe some people want a simpler life and don't want to participate in society anymore. It's a shame you can't just leave if you want too (well I mean you can, but its not a very good option lol) .
