Power Supply Mounting Brackets

Power Supply Mounting Brackets

I wanted to mount my power supply under the print bed towards the back of my Prusa. These are the mounting brackets I came up with to do just that. These were designed in AutoCAD 2011. Printed in black ABS on my Prusa Mendel w/ heated bed. Instructions I was having trouble with the parts due to there small, but long surface areas coming off the print bed so I put some pads on the lift points and the seemed to fix it. You can choose from the STLs with pads or without. I have also included the DWG. I printed mine with 2 perimeters and 40% infil. I would suggest 100% infil if your slicer generates a gap. My old MakerBot nozzel is more closer to 0.65mm than the 0.5mm it started out as. I used M4 x 8mm flat heads (what I had laying around) to mount them to the power supply. I would suggest a pan head or cap head screw so you don't split the mounts by putting too much force on the printed layers. The mounts pretty much snap on (though a little loose for 5/16 threaded rod. M8 should be a snug fit.) to the frame and tighten up once you screw all of them in. (The power supply doesn't move around or anything.) Oh, and if you are wondering.. Yes, the hole on the frame vertex does have a power switch in it. :) I didn't think it deserved to be a thing since it technically doesn't have any 3D printed parts.. It actually fits in there quite snuggly.
