Power Supply Mounting for the Replicator

Power Supply Mounting for the Replicator

thingiverse

This thing facilitates mounting a common imported 24V power supply beneath the build chamber of a Replicator. The standoffs are connected by a frame, so you don't have to deal with four separate standoffs. Instead of mounting the power supply flush to the bottom plate, the standoffs ensure that the cooling cutouts on the power supply frame aren't blocked. The frame and standoffs also serve as a drilling guide to position the drilled holes in the Replicator bottom plate. The mounting holes are positioned for the most common imported type power supply. The positions can be changed easily by adjusting the parameters in the OpenSCAD file. Note that this thing is specifically not available in customizer, as that is one of the main pollutant sources that make Thingiverse practically unusable. Instructions I printed in ABS at 0.2mm layer height, 25% infil. The width and thickness of the frame that I used are probably overkill. They could be reduced by adjusting parameters in the OpenSCAD file. If necessary, ream out the mounting holes in the standoffs so they clear the 4mm screw threads. The screws should not tap into the standoffs. Decide where you want the power supply on the underside of the build chamber, and position the standoff frame appropriately; tape it in place. Either mark the holes to be drilled, using the frame as a guide, or just drill through the frame and the Replicator bottom plate. Avoid hitting any wires or other mechanics/electronics. You can just leave the standoff frame taped in place, and insert the four, M4-15 screws and washers from the inside of the build chamber. Position the power supply and tighten the screws. Caution, the mounting screws should not penetrate the power supply frame by more than 4mm. With the current values in the OpenSCAD file, the penetration distance should be less than this assuming that a 15mm length screw is used with a washer and 5mm thick base plate.
