Update. The PLA gear failed after about a week, but to my surprise it was at the top, not stripped teeth. I reprinted with nylon 910, and so far so good. If this one fails, I'll redesign the top portion again. After upgrading the kids Jeep Power Wheels to 24V one of the final drive gears decided to give out. I replicated the part and printed it with PLA filament. I beefed up the portion that goes into the wheel hub after breaking the first print at that location. So far after about a week the gear is working great. I would like to re-print with nylon in the future, but so far the PLA version is holding up.
