Power Wheels Jeep Wheel Adapter

Power Wheels Jeep Wheel Adapter

This is a set of parts to adapt the power wheels jeep to run with generic 10" rubber wheels such as the popular harbor freight wheel. This set of STL's works with both front and back wheels. For the front wheels, skip the larger drive adapter, print the bushings and cap. The bushings are two sizes, the longer one goes inboard and the shorter one outboard. The cap goes over the nut on the outside to keep the threads covered to reduce injury. 0.005" of clearance exists in the cap so it may or may not need something to hold it in place. Align with the nut and tap into place with a hammer. To install the drive adapter, the bolts in a wheel and drill the holes out to a hair over 3/8 if you can ~25/64. They will probably work at 3/8 but it will be snug. The screws are replaced with 1.5-2" fully threaded cap screws of your choice. A 3/8 nut is inserted into the pocket and held in place by the print, followed by another to lock the print in place. The original 4 point drive link piece interfaces with the large adapter. Note that the rubber wheels have substantial traction so without a soft start/stop mod, you will likely destroy your gearbox quickly. Printed in PETG but would likely work well in abs too. It doesn't have to be pretty.
