PPE dental headgear

thingiverse

PPE headgear design created to accommodate extra distance and space needed for dental gear; mask, glasses, and loops. The pegs are spaced to accept three different shield sizes; 11 inch, 14 inch, and 16.25 inches, which provides more wrap-around coverage. The tabs near the back hold the excess plastic for the 16.25 inch plastic shield. Hole punch templates for all shield sizes are available. A 3-stack printable design is available for increased production. Pre-cut plastic shield blanks were purchased from Tekra using 010 clear plastic. A local print shop was used to hole punch the shields. Design by Jamie Carroll, ATSU Academic Technologies in cooperation with Debbie Summers of A.T. Still Memorial Library, Ammar Musawi and Akshay Vij of ATSU-MOSDOH Dental School. The design was based on and inspired by headgear designs from Caleb Flaim, NIH, and Prusa. The key features of this design are thicker construction, more pegs for different shield sizes, tabs to hold excess plastic wrap-around, and button hooks only on the back.
