Preaching Cross in Newport Museum (South Wales)

Preaching Cross in Newport Museum (South Wales)

This is a scan I made while visiting the excellent Newport Museum and Art Gallery in South Wales. It's part of a carved stone preaching cross as described below from the exhibit's sign: "Wayside, or Preaching Cross, representing The Crucifixion, found during the construction of the present Newport Bridge, around 1926. The Cross is thought to date from between 1450 and 1500." The Newport Museum and Art Gallery has many interesting exhibits and you can find out more on the Newport City Council website: http://www.newport.gov.uk/heritage/Museum--Art-Gallery/Museum-Art-Gallery.aspx The scan was done using the Sony 3D Creator app on my Xperia XZ1 Compact smartphone.
