This model consists of very less number of parts and it is very unique, simple and most effective one. The crystal is placed in contact with diaphragm inside the vacuum cylinder when pressure increases the diaphragm makes the piezoelectric crystal to squeeze. When a piezoelectric crystal is squeezed, there is a relative displacement of positive and negative charges within the crystal and the outer surfaces of the crystal become charged. This deflection can be detected by potential difference created or the strain gauge attached to the diaphragm by a change in capacitance between it and parallel fixed plate on other end of the crystal. The output is a voltage that is proportional to the applied pressure with a sensitivity of 0.6mV/kPa.
