This remix is focused on printability and durability.

Parts has been tweaked or fully remodelled to better suit FDM manufacturing with regards to layer lines etc.

Print each part with the orientation shown in the Schematics. The barrel is printed horizontally and the rings vertically to give each part the strength it needs for actual play or cosplay use.

Assembly has been made easier compared to the version this remix is based on, adding keys and slots to guide the parts during testing and gluing. Also, some parts have been joined since it made little sense printing them separately.

Build order

Start with the main body pieces and clean them up. Make sure the trigger, hammer and (optional) mounting key fits when both pieces of the body is pressed together. Then glue all three to the right body part.

Push the sight adjuster through it's hole in the right body part and mount the lock piece to it. Again, mount the two body halves and see if things fit. If needed, trim down the lock piece with a flush cutter. Then glue the lock piece to the sight adjuster, carefully avoiding getting any glue into the hole or it won't be able to rotate afterwards.

Finally glue the two body halves together and add the handles.

Mount the front adjuster thingie into it's hole under the barrel and the rest of the body accessories.

Build the barrel separately without gluing it to the body of the blaster. This might save you some heartache if you accidentally break one of the rings or mount it in the incorrect order.

When the barrel is complete, simply pop it into its hole in the body and glue it down.

Printing tips-and-tricks

The barrel needs supports to print.

The barrel rings etc has two tolerance version depending on your printer and filament used, do a few test prints and see which suits you best.

The mounting for the barrel rings is octagon shaped, this is so you can twist the ring parts to center them while assembling.

You will most likely need to sand or use an exacto knife to shave of the topmost layer of each ring mount to make it completely flat and flush against the previous ring. My printer/slicer added extra material to each ring which also needed to be trimmed down or the tip will not fit.

The handles print best in standing orientation. To help with that I included a version with built in supports to make it stick to the bed. Simply print them and then remove the spruce in the middle.

Colors to use

To be proper prop-alike you should only use plain black color. However, it will be visually more interesting if you use some accent colors on some parts.

The handles turned out great when printed in wood-filled PLA and then stained with regular wood stain.

If the blaster will be used as a toy, consider printing some parts in orange to make it stand out as a toy. You can also add the “Pew Pew” flag accessory I created to make even more toy like.

Alternatives

The original handles are included as an alternative. They are thinner and gets more snug against the main body. The thinness means that they only work if you print them horizontally. I got good results using a 0.25mm nozzle but it took forever, and in the end wasn't as nice as the horisontal versions I created.

The barrel can be printed in one piece if you got suitable filament for it. The glitter filled PLA I used however did not have anywhere near the layer adhesion needed for actual use without breaking of the rings on the barrel.

You can also print the split barrel from the original model and then assemble it. It won't have the mounting guide to keep it from rotating, but as long as you are careful when gluing you don't really need it.
